City Bible Church operates under the oversight of a governing body called an Eldership. That team is currently comprised of 24 men and women of different ages, races, and backgrounds that provide wisdom in managing of a variety of matters that come our way, as well as, ensuring that we as a church are honoring God and fulfilling the vision he has placed before us. Each person that is on our Eldership is a fully committed member of our church family and has consistently led an exemplary life both in public and in private that aligns with the Biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3.

As we have journeyed together through our season of transition and continue to grow into our future, the Elders and I felt it is time to invite some new additions to this strategic team. I would like to take a moment to introduce each of them to you. I would also like to direct you to the bulletin as well as our website for more information on each of these new members.

Carlos Marin and his wife Clarissa, along with their two daughters, joined City Bible Church in 2005. Since then, Carlos’ outstanding leadership skills have been appreciated in the various roles he has served in such as the Human Resource Administrator, Communications Pastor, and Church Online Campus Pastor as well as in Portland Bible College as the School Administrator. Carlos brings an excellent blend of education, ministry, and
management experience to City Bible.

Miriam Trolese has been on staff at CBC since 2000 when she came to PBC from El Salvador. In 2002 she married Ben and together they started pastoring the Hispanic Ministry of CBC. In 2003, they took a step of faith and began our weekly Latino Sunday service, which now is our Latino Campus. Her and Ben now pastor the campus on 217. Miriam has been pastoring at CBC for the last 13 years and has travelled to different places to speak at women's and marriage events.

Rick McClatchey has been part of City Bible since 1997 and is a graduate of PBC. He and his wife Sarah have been married for 14 years and they have four beautiful daughters. Rick has served in several areas of ministry here at CBC from men’s to children’s, leading connect groups and serving as a lay pastor. In 2011 he joined the Rocky Butte Pastoral Staff and spends much of his time working on Connect Groups, counseling, and general pastoral care and has been doing a phenomenal job.

The current Team of Elders have unanimously confirmed these individuals and we want to give you an opportunity to affirm our choice of them on April 2nd. In the meantime, if you have any concerns please feel free to get in contact with myself, your campus pastor or any of the elders. Because we value the role an Elder plays in our Church it is important for you to be part of the process, I am asking every member of City Bible Church to make every effort to be here Sunday, April 2nd to participate in this affirmation process. Then on April 30th we will have the opportunity to ordain and pray over them as they begin to fulfill this important role.
